Assistant Principal

11 & 12

Ms. Laura Forster

In the past week during this latest lockdown phase, year 11 and 12 students have been completing online line learning for all of their classes as scheduled on their individual timetables. Although not in their physical classrooms, this has meant no disruption to their learning programs.

Lessons have been delivered via MS Teams and supported by teachers delivering unchanged VCE and VCAL programs.  Further to this, students completing unit 3 had additional resourcing support through the Edrolo program. In some cases, some of the scheduled SACS dates which were scheduled for this week, have had to be altered and rescheduled to the coming weeks, therefore it is advisable that parents and students check these new dates on COMPASS.

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) have deferred the General Achievement Test (GAT) from the previously advertised date of Wednesday 9 th June, to a date yet to be determined. This will allow all students and their teachers valuable face to face time to focus on completing any remaining SAC’s and course work for unit 3.

It was wonderful to see our year 11 and 12 students back at school on Friday. The year 11’s attended their English exam, with further exams to follow next week as previously scheduled. From all accounts from supervising staff, the students were organised and impeccably behaved during the exam.

On a final note, I encourage all students to follow the mandated precautions of wearing of masks whilst and school and in the community, especially whilst travelling on public transport to and from school, and to sanitise hands often when entering each classroom or exam rooms. These precautions will ensure their safety during these times. Students should not be attending onsite learning if they have symptoms or have been advised by the Department of Health that they need to isolate. Please notify the senior school team if this is the case.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me or the members of the senior school, should you have any concerns or questions about your child.

Wishing you and your families the best of health,

Laura Forster.
