VCAL Kindergarten Visit

Our Year 12 VCAL students recently visited Tarneit Central Kindergarten to teach a play based learning lesson to the students.

I must say our students really know how to turn it on when challenged. 

They did so well, the kindergarten leader even asked the students to come back and teach every fortnight.

Here are the activities our students conducted:

·         Researched play based learning

·         Presented to the class the theory and application tasks that could be taught to four     year olds

·         Created an observation checklist of what they believe effective teaching and learning looks like

·         Observed staff members teaching within our college

·         Learned dance moves to wheels on the bus, row row row your boat and do the propeller (absolute Wiggles classic)

·         Created a Who am I booklet for Kindergarten students to draw pictures in

·         They then created a lesson plan that was approved by the team leader at the kinder and taught the lesson.

I am extremely proud of all the students who participated.
