Sports Report

Monday the 24th of May saw the College hold the annual House Athletics Carnival. Students from all year level competed in the track and field events of 100m sprint, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, discus, shot put, long jump, triple jump and high jump in an attempt to score points for their houses.

With beautiful blue skies, the day was a huge success. Students demonstrated outstanding athletic ability and when competing, and excellent sportsmanship and team pride when supporting their fellow competitors and cheering on their House!

It was a huge day of competition with a total of 80 events running throughout the day. It was fantastic to see students from all houses dressed in House colours and costumes, with House chants and cheering a feature of the event.

Student relays were closely followed by the main event of the day, the staff house relay! After lengthy warm ups the staff hit the track to bring pride to their respective houses, ultimately Balak proved too strong across the four 100m legs, taking out bragging rights for 2021! They were closely followed by Penrose in second, Chirnside in third and Gillard coming in last place.

Relay points were then tallied and added to the running points totals. For the first time ever TSC has a draw in athletic points!

A huge congratulations to both Balak and Penrose, the joint winners for the 2021 Athletics Carnival!!
