News from 4F - Our Remote Learning Journey

We have been very busy at home and at school doing daily authentic learning tasks. The list is endless and full of fun learning experiences. We have learnt alot from each other and upskilled ourselves in online learning.

Archie:

It has been a great journey, I have learnt a lot of different things that I wouldn’t learn in the classroom. The maths activities have been my favourite. Particularly the Bedroom makeover challenge. I got to do some research and chose items for my bedroom, I then had to calculate the costs as we were only given a $200 budget. I also enjoyed the Exercise Challenge. We had to design a fitness program, estimate how long it would take us to complete each challenge and then we found out the exact times by completing the activities.

Camilla:

I thought that the daily tasks were amazing and different each time but followed the same structure so it was easy to follow. My favourite part was the writing tasks. They were daily short stories with different motivations and we were able to be as creative as we wished. Our teachers were great at explaining it all and made it fun. It was so nice to see everyone daily and share our work.

Grace:

I like all the different activities we did during Remote Learning, they are fun and we play games as we learn. Everything is set out step by step and it’s quiet. I don't have to travel to school at all and I have yummy snacks and lots of breaks. I do miss my classmates though.

Viola:

I have had lots of fun with our Remote Learning. This past term I have made new friends and have made new bonds with teachers. I am very happy with the way this year at school is going and I’m proud of myself and my class. During this remote learning our teachers have played games with us and have set up fun activities for us to enjoy. Miss Beamish has fun stamps and online stickers that she marks our work with and it’s so cool.

Well done to Stevie O (5/6A) for his selection in the School Sports Victoria Hockey Team.   This is an amazing achievement as Stevie is one of 13 boys selected in the under 12's section to represent Victoria.  Good Luck Stevie. We are very proud of you and will all be barracking for Victoria.

Visual Arts

Milagros, meaning miracles in Spanish, are small religious folk charms found throughout Mexico and Peru.  The Heart Milagro (also known as the Sacred Heart) represents love, healing and gratitude.  The Year 5/6 Students have designed and made their own Milagros, embossing patterns into metal.

Teachers vs Students

Who will fill their container first?

The teachers with bread bag tags or the students with bread bags!

It’s game on!
