Healthy Heroes Program

It was my absolute pleasure to spend the day with eight of our student leaders that participated in the Healthy Heroes Program at the Deakin Cats Community Centre at GMHBA Stadium last Thursday.

The leadership program had a focus on healthy eating, physical activity and well-being. There were some really valuable opportunities for our OGPS leaders to discuss these areas and also the positive message and influence they have on other students at Ocean Grove Primary School.

We participated in four workshop stations with a focus on diet, physical activity, character strengths and team work. I was so proud of the way our leaders participated and contributed during these workshops. They collaborated with students from other schools and worked diligently on the tasks required.

Oscar Brownless and Shannon Neale formed part of a panel that shared their leadership journey with our students. Once again, our leaders asked some great questions of the panel followed by a very entertaining quiz.

I was super impressed with our leaders throughout the duration of this program – they displayed loads of enthusiasm, they were incredibly engaged, respectful and as always, did our school proud!

There may be further developments that come out of this student leadership day!

Student Leaders In the Office

If you phone or call into the office during lunch times you may get the privilege of  speaking to one of our wonderful school leaders who are helping Jenny and Anna.
