CULINARY CHALLENGE 2022

MS MANDY MCCALLUM - HOSPITALITY TEACHER

Last Tuesday, St Mary MacKillop College hosted the Regional Final of the Murray River Culinary Challenge. Kerang Technical High School, Swan Hill College and St Mary MacKillop College teams competed against each other in a quest to go on and represent our region in the Grand Final in Shepparton in September.

 

The students were required to cook a three-course meal within the allocated time. The entree consisted of a tomato bruschetta with rocket and parmesan salad, the main was stuffed pork tenderloin with roast sweet potatoes, the meal was finished with flourless chocolate cake with pistachio cream. All teams worked consistently throughout the competition and impressed the judges with their workflow and high skill level, each course was delivered on time and presented to industry standard. 

 

Swan Hill College won the competition by one point ahead of the MacKillop team. Congratulations to all competitors and all the best to Swan Hill College in the Grand Final.
