YEAR 10 CAMP -CHARTSEC

MS SAIGE OTTREY - STUDENT EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

At the beginning of the Term 3 our Year 10s attended the CHARTSEC Camp (Charlton Traffic Safety Education Centre) in core groups. The students participated in the pre-driver's education course and put their skills and knowledge to the test in the cars on the course. I attended one of the camps and was amazed at how far the students' driving skills improved over the 3 days. There were a few nervous hill starts for the students driving the manuals and the night drive seemed to be a highlight. The students embraced the opportunity with a positive attitude and had a great time. Throughout the camp a few trips to the Servo for ice cream and some card games in the lounge entertained the students.

Well done to the Year 10s who received great feedback from the driving instructors at CHARTSEC as well as the staff who attended the camps. Thank you to Ms Howison, Mr Hogan, Mr Waterson, Ms Bell and Mr Haley for supervising the students.
