Kwong Lee Dow (KLD) Young Scholars Program

This University of Melbourne program is an academic enrichment program designed to support high achieving students currently in Year 10. Students must demonstrate evidence of leadership potential, active citizenship and community involvement in their application.  Benefits of being a KLD Young Scholar include access to University resources and participation in an exciting program of events and activities, as well as benefits for any student who studies at The University of Melbourne. This program has been successfully running for a number of years and previous recipients have found this to be an extremely worthwhile experience. Brochures and application details are available from their website go.unimelb.edu.au/v95i  or the Pathways Office.  Applications close Sunday, September 18th.

Year 9 and 10 Pathways

Year 9 students are starting an exciting ‘Mock Interview” project where they work in small groups, deciding where they are applying for a job, research the business and think of answers to questions they will be asked. Groups will then record each other being interviewed in the LRC Green Screen Room where they can produce a short film clip for feedback.

Year 10 students have just completed a Coaching Young People for Success program called ‘My Life and Career Pathway Plan’. This program requires to students create a personal profile, consider their life-type, imagine career possibilities and also to challenges them to create an action plan for success. This program is always well received by students and one we enjoy incorporating into our Pathways Program.
