One of the most delightful things to observe when walking down our school corridor is the number of students gazing at the history of the school, trying to locate current and past students and teachers in a whole school photo.
The photos date back to 2011 and older. All staff and students will gather together tomorrow at 10:00 am for this monumental occasion. A drone will be circling the school taking the photograph that will be displayed in our corridor opposite the kinder.
Unfortunately, in 2020 and 2021, this long-standing tradition did not take place, whether good or bad let's focus on the future.
Ripponlea Primary Book-lovers’ favourite time of year is here!
Thanks to Scholastic, the Book Fair is coming to the RPS Library during Book Week from Monday 22 until Thursday 25 August.
The Book Fair is like a pop-up bookstore in our library where you can purchase some great books and an assortment of other gift ideas.
The Book Fair is open from 8.15am until 8.55am and from 3.35pm until 4.15pm from Monday to Thursday during Book Week only! Cash and EFTPOS sales welcome.
The attached invitation (your child may bring one of these home) gives an idea of just some of the great titles on offer. If you have any questions please email Jess @ jessica.grey@education.vic.gov.au
Can’t wait to see you there!
For all planning purposes, we also urge families to notify the school or Mrs. Rose directly at natalie.rose@education.vic.gov.au if your child/children will not be continuing at Ripponlea in 2023.
This of course does not include our graduating Year 6's. They are all excited, as many have received their secondary school of choice for 2023.
The 2022 Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge is now open, so let's get reading Rippers. Parents can register from home or email Mrs. Rose, who can register your child/ren.
The PRC application offers a range of exciting features including:
The Challenge is open to all Victorian children from birth to Year 10 in recognition of the importance of reading for literacy development. It is not a competition, but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by2 September 2022.
Our school continues to follow the guidelines of the Education and Health Department by encouraging staff and students to wear masks whilst indoors. We highly recommend that students and staff wear masks, especially when a confirmed case is identified in their class or year level.
Masks are an added protection against the spread of all viruses. We will continue to promote strong COVIDSafe measures in our school. This includes enhanced ventilation through air purifiers, promoting vaccination and keeping the vital safety steps such as staying home when unwell and washing hands.
This is about keeping our school as safe as possible.
Rapid Antigen Tests will be distributed throughout this term, but families are welcome to come and get kits directly from the office whenever required.
