Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Parents & Friends,

There has definately been a lot of wonderful community buzz at Trinity recently. With our Concert last week, a fantastic Father's Day breakfast as well as a number of excursions and swimming taking place, we have seen so much more family involvement and it is great to be able to have parents involved once again as they have in the past.

Whilst the busiest few weeks are now behind us there is still much happening at school each day and our children are heavily involved in their learning, with specialist classes and their normal classroom activities all continuing as normal. This term we made the decision to postpone our normal classroom Learning Expo due to our concert and swimming program. We value the importance of our children being able to share their learning and look forward to our Learning Expos in the future.

Year 3/4 CAMP

On Wednesday we farewelled our Year 3/4 students as they headed off to Campaspe Downs in Kyneton for their much anticipated school camp. The excitement was evident as children began arriving at school with bags packed and great expectations of an exciting few days. Having spent the day with the campers yesterday I can tell you all that those expectations will definately be met as all children particpated in and extended themselves in many challenging and adventurous activities. I know they will all be full of interesting stories to share on their return. Thanks Mrs Smith and teachers for the Facebook updates.

Prayer:  A Prayer for Peace:

Dear God, Our world is torn with war and violence. I pray that you provide this world with a peace that is only found in you. I pray for those who are suffering from the results of war and violence. I pray you provide them with both physical and mental healing. I pray for an end to these wars and acts of violence. I pray for your redemption. I pray for an end to all of the division between individuals, groups, and nations. I pray for your healing. I pray for an end to all the trauma and hurting. I pray for your love to reign over all. In Jesus' name, Amen. (Read: Hebrews 12:12–14)

Prep 2023 Families

Welcome to all those families joining us next year as they begin the relationship with our Trinity Community. Many new families and some already part of the school attended our Welcome Transition morning to participate in an engaging and fun activity provided by Green Hat Activities. The idea of the session was to enable our new children to meet other children they will be starting school with and of course their parents so that they could also be introduced to each other and begin to make those important connections which will no doubt grow over the next seven years.

Student Learning - Writers Festival

Last Friday some of our talented writers from Year 5 and 6 attended the State Library in the city for the Melbourne Writers Festival. We listened to four inspiring authors: Katrina Nannestad, Kirli Saunders, Edie Woo and Gabrielle Wang. It was truly an amazing day as the authors left us with some very funny, heartfelt and thought-provoking messages about their life, the stories they have written and what it means to be an author.

Ms Marinelli

See our students reflections on page 2 of this week's newsleter.

Thanks again Ms Marinelli for organizing this great experience. One of our students was even lucky enough to be called on stage to join one of the presenters in a lesson in... I'll let the photo below tell the story!

MACSSIS (Melbourne Archdioces Catholic Schools School Improvement Surveys)

Please ensure one member from each familiy completes the MACSSIS survey emailed this week as it is essential that we have a good cross section of data on which to work next term and in 2023.

From Parents and Friends

Last week saw the Father's Day stall back up and running at school. With loads of lovely gifts for their special persons in their life the kids had a ball coming to the "shop". A huge thank you to Sophie Issa for organising this much anticipated event. There was a lovely range of goods and it was extremely well organised. Thank you also to all the parent helpers that came to set up and to help run the stall. I hope everyone had a special weekend with their little ones.
