What events did you participate in?

On the Athletics day, I participated in U-14 100m sprint, U-14 800m sprint, U-14 shot-put and the junior school 1.2km walking race.

What were some of the highlights of the Athletics Carnival?

During the carnival my friends and I got our faces painted with beautiful flowers and cartoons. We cheered for our classmates who participated in other events throughout the day. It was also my first time attending the Carnival, and I would like to thank everyone who made it such a fun experience!

Education Agents visit the College

A couple of weeks ago we invited two education agents to meet our principal team and our International Students. One of the agents, JJL, was one of the top 5 performing Chinese Education Agents in 2018 as ranked by the Victorian Education Department. On the day, the agents were warmly welcomed by Mr Morris and Ms McGee. Our International students received updated information on university courses and various pathways. We look forward to continuing our mutually beneficial relationship with these education agents and to further improve and develop our International Student Program.

Tree Top Adventure

On Wednesday, 15 May our International Students were lucky enough to have a planned excursion to the Trees Adventure park in Belgrave, Australia's #1 Tree Ropes and Ziplining Experience. The students were challenged by the obstacle courses high up in the tree canopy. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended and I was extremely impressed with the students' enthusiasm and participation.

The most difficult part was the slackline with the single rope support – it maxed out my right arm before reaching the safety platform! The most enjoyable part of today was seeing our students take on both the physical and psychological challenges of the Tree Top Adventure, they showed us their true strength of character.

STUDENT REFLECTIONS

The Tree Top Adventure Excursion today was totally amazing. Many thanks to the international team which provides us with this great opportunity to have a bit of fun in the busy term. As a person who is a bit scared of heights, I thought I was not going to be brave enough to go up the activity. However, it has proven that it's definitely worth trying. It was pretty difficult managing balance and strength to move so high above the ground, but students showed great teamwork skills and lots of courage. I absolutely liked this experience.

The most difficult part of today’s adventure was holding onto the high ropes courses. Sometimes I was not strong enough. The most enjoyable part of today’s experience was flying from tree to tree.

The most difficult part obstacle course was the one with the bits of wood with 4 ropes holding it together. It wobbled when you stood on it and it was very hard to balance. The most enjoyable part was the flying fox. I had so much fun today. Thank you for organising this excursion.

I didn’t get the chance to go up because I was too afraid of heights. However, I heard a lot of screaming and shouting from students and staff during the Flying Fox. On the ground, I had the best view than anybody else and I saw everyone had a lot of fun today. Thank you to all the teachers and the International Student Team who organised this excursion. It was a very memorable experience!
