School Council Report

Council Meeting Report – 20 February 2023

Welcome back to School Council for 2023!

It’s been great to see the kids settle in so well and I particularly love the music that you might have heard carrying around the neighbourhood, which helps transition the kids back to class after their break times.

After the perfect weather for the school picnic last week, the Social Club and Fair Committee are now full steam ahead finalising plans for the upcoming School Fair! As our first fair since 2019, we are all excited to see the school transformed on Saturday 1 April – and there are still plenty of ways to get involved for those interested. Take a look in Compass at the latest Fair newsletter for all the details.  There will be tonnes of jobs on the day and it’s a great way to meet new people and help things run smoothly for the kids.

Get Involved!

If you’d like to get involved in the community side of school, the regular Social Club meetings are open to all those interested. The Club would love to have some new members after the fair to share ideas for how we can support our wonderful community and events.

Buildings & Grounds

Our Buildings & Grounds committee and the Environmental Sustainability Working Group (ESWG) have been busy as usual making sure the Solar Array and Grey Water tanks are running the best they can. We thank them for all their efforts to support the school's Green journey and anyone interested is welcome to attend their regular meetings to help keep the school on track.

Grab your gloves and come along to their working bee on Sunday 19 March to get the school looking sharp before the Fair!

New School Council Members

We’re looking forward to welcoming some new members after the recent School Council nominations and as always, School Council is committed to finding ways of bringing us all together on a variety of different levels. Please do not hesitate to talk to your School Council representatives –old or new – if you have anything you want to discuss about FPS. All school council meeting minutes are posted to the school website.
