Mitcham Primary School Sustainable Second-Hand Uniform Shop

We have some exciting news to share!

Mitcham Primary School now has a Second-hand uniform shop neatly stocked with donated uniform items.

The Mitcham Primary School Second-hand Uniform Shop will be staffed Robynne Hoskin from our Administration Team.

The shop opening hours will be 8.30 am to 9.30 am on the first Thursday of each month.

We can accept cash or EFTPOS and a price list has been attached for your information.  Please be aware that stock is available according to donated items only, so we may not always have the item you need.  However, our generous school community has provided a wide selection of sizes and items for our shop this term.

The Mitcham Primary School Second-hand Uniform Shop is in the Tirana Street building and is accessed from the stairway entry next to the Tennis Courts.

Our grand opening will be Thursday 6th April at 8.30 am.  We look forward to offering this service to our school community.

This time will also be an opportunity for you to donate your pre-loved or out-grown uniform items. (Please only donate items that are laundered and in good saleable condition).

Our sustainable Second-hand Uniform Shop encourages reuse and recycling and enables MPS Families to look for second-hand items first before buying new.  This supports MPS values for improved environmental sustainability and provides for a fundraising opportunity.  Any profit made from our second-hand uniform sales is invested in our current school programs and directly benefits our students.

We have a wide selection of school attire available in all sizes with pricing from $2.00 to $10.00.

We look forward to your generous support and an opportunity for you to pick up a bargain.

Messaging Teachers Using Compass

Teachers can be contacted via Compass. If you are using a phone app to access Compass, you will need to click on the "More" button on the lower right of the page, then select "Open in Browser".

In the Parent Portal, underneath each student's name, there is an option to email the student's teachers. This will send an email to all of the student's teachers including their main teacher as well as the specialists, so click the red cross on the right to remove the teachers you do not need to email. Any replies will come directly to the parent's email.

If you have any questions, please speak with the Office.

Late Arrival/Absences

If your child arrives late all students must present to the school office so that the office can record accurately the student's arrival, and a late pass will be provided.

When notifying the school of a full day absence, we ask you to please do so via Compass. Please do not record late/early leaving in Compass but rather phone or email the office and student's classroom teacher.

If you are collecting your child from First Aid, office staff will sign your child out on your behalf.

Mobile Phones and Smart Watches/ Devices with Internet Connectivity

The Victorian Government takes the safe and responsible use of digital technologies, student safety and wellbeing, and the development of social skills and positive behaviour, very seriously.

Students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must have them switched off and securely stored during all school hours at the school office. They can then be collected at the end of the school day. Phones cannot be in classrooms, bags or carried by the student. Smart watches should not have connectivity (wifi or 3/4G) as contact during the day with families goes against the Department of Education policy.

Medical Forms

Mitcham Primary School are committed to ensuring that we continually seek to achieve best practice in all aspects of keeping your student safe.  Should your student require the administering of medication while at school we now  require the medication be supplied in a blister pack with the correct student name.  The chemist can provide this service for you. This will ensure the safe administering of all medications to our students.

Please ensure that your child’s medical forms are up to date, as this information is updated annually. If there are any changes to your child's medical condition or treatment, please provide the school with updated information.

You can also assist us by ensuring you keep us up to date with any changes throughout the year.
