Mitcham Primary School Sustainable Second-Hand Uniform Shop

Grand Opening
Grand Opening

Thursday 6th April marked the day for the ‘grand opening’ of the Mitcham Primary School Second-hand Uniform Shop! Thank you to those families that popped in to support the new service and make a purchase.

We extend a very special thankyou to Robynne Hoskin – Accounts Administration – for her tireless effort to have the shop up and running for our families and community this term.  Robynne will coordinate this service for our community moving forward and has made every effort to create a seamless process for you to stop and shop!

The MPS Second-hand Uniform Shop will be staffed Robynne from 8.30am to 9.30am on the first Thursday of each month. Payment by cash and EFTPos will be accepted. The shop location is in the Tirana Street Building adjacent to the Tennis Courts.

The MPS Uniform Shop provides an opportunity for you to donate your pre-loved or out-grown uniform items and support our mission for sustainability. (Please only donate items that are laundered and in good saleable condition).

Our sustainable Second-hand Uniform Shop encourages reuse and recycling and enables MPS Families to look for second-hand items first before buying new.  This supports MPS values for improved environmental sustainability and provides for a fundraising opportunity.  Any profit made from our second-hand uniform sales is invested in our current school programs and directly benefits our students.

We have a wide selection of school attire available in all sizes with pricing from $2.00 to $10.00.

We look forward to your generous support and an opportunity for you to pick up a bargain.

Warm regards,

Michelle Shearn

Business Manager

Messaging Teachers Using Compass

Teachers can be contacted via Compass. If you are using a phone app to access Compass, you will need to click on the "More" button on the lower right of the page, then select "Open in Browser".

In the Parent Portal, underneath each student's name, there is an option to email the student's teachers. This will send an email to all of the student's teachers including their main teacher as well as the specialists, so click the red cross on the right to remove the teachers you do not need to email. Any replies will come directly to the parent's email.

If you have any questions, please speak with the Office.

Late Arrival/Absences

If your child arrives late all students must present to the school office so that the office can record accurately the student's arrival, and a late pass will be provided.

When notifying the school of a full day absence, we ask you to please do so via Compass. Please do not record late/early leaving in Compass but rather phone or email the office and student's classroom teacher.

Medical Forms

Mitcham Primary School are committed to ensuring that we continually seek to achieve best practice in all aspects of keeping your student safe.  Should your student require the administering of medication while at school we now  require the medication be supplied in a blister pack with the correct student name.  The chemist can provide this service for you. This will ensure the safe administering of all medications to our students.

Please ensure that your child’s medical forms are up to date, as this information is updated annually. If there are any changes to your child's medical condition or treatment, please provide the school with updated information.

You can also assist us by ensuring you keep us up to date with any changes throughout the year.
