Mitchat Term 1 Week 11

Cross Country

What a brilliant way to finish a fabulous term. This morning’s Cross Country event was a terrific example of Mitcham Primary School’s community spirit, I particularly loved watching our little preps running hand-in-hand with their big Grade 5/6 buddies, while being cheered on by the rest of the school. Thank you to all our volunteers, we would not have been able to run this event without you! To all the Mitcham Primary School staff and parents, thank you for your enthusiastic support of all our students. And a very big thank you to Miss Ellis, your organisation, as always, was impeccable!

Congratulations to all students for your participation and an extra special congratulations to students in Grevillea house, for winning the Cross Country this year.

3-Way Conferences

We are pleased to share with you the success of our recent 3-way Conferences. We were delighted to see so many of you attend these meetings and take an active interest in your child's education.

Throughout the meetings, our dedicated teachers were able to provide valuable insights into your child's academic progress, social development, and overall well-being. We were thrilled to receive so much positive feedback from parents regarding our teachers' approachability, professionalism, and genuine concern for each student's success.

It was also encouraging to hear about the ongoing support that you provide for your children at home, including nightly reading, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities.

We are grateful for the strong partnerships we have built with our parents and guardians, and we believe that working together is essential for the success of our students. By continuing to collaborate in this way, we are confident that we can provide our students with the best possible education and prepare them for a bright future.

The Fathering Project

The recent Fathering Project picnic hosted by our school was another fabulous achievement. It was an evening filled with fun sport activities, great food, and lots of laughter!

We were pleased to see so many dads, granddads, uncles, and father figures come together with their children to enjoy the festivities. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as families took part in activities such as sack races, relays, soccer, and three-legged races.

The picnic provided a fantastic opportunity for fathers and father figures to bond with their children and chat with other families and we were delighted to see the strong connections that were formed. The dads and special friends were enthusiastic and engaged, and children were clearly overjoyed to spend time with them.

The evening was made possible by dedicated staff, Laura Ellis, Isaac Delaney and Nathan Percy who generously gave their time and resources to ensure that everything ran smoothly. We are grateful for their hard work and commitment to making this event a success.

At Mitcham Primary School, we believe that involving parents and the wider community in our school activities is crucial for the success of our students. We are thrilled that this event was able to achieve that goal and bring our community together in such a positive way.

Thank you to all who attended the Fathering Project picnic, and we look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Easter to all our wonderful students and their families! As we celebrate this occasion, let us also take the time to appreciate the little things that make life so special. The laughter of children, the warmth of the sun, and the beauty of nature are all reminders of the wonderful gifts we have been given.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter and relaxing and fun holiday break, filled with love, laughter, and all the chocolate you can eat!

Warmly,

Erin
