The Middle School students have continued to ‘Make A Positive Impact’ over the term with their contributions to learning, the community and each other. Our first assembly for the year provided an opportunity to award students for their efforts, as nominated by their peers and teachers. It was wonderful to see so many students recognised. A big congratulations to our recipients.

House spirit was alive and well at our Years 7 – 12 House Athletics last week with students actively participating in a variety of events. Students were glowing with their personal achievements and array of ribbons. Congratulations to all students on their successes and giving their best in their elected events.

Year 6 students recently had their Retreat Day. This was met with much excitement, resilience and challenge. The aim of the day was to build their teamwork, connectedness and to step outside of their comfort zone. Students began with rock climbing at Boulder Lab, where many put their muscles and nerves to the test to climb to the top. With varying degrees of challenge, they worked their way through the levels and heights. The day was continued at the 1000 Steps. Resilience and teamwork were in true form here, with lots of encouragement and support of each other. Despite some hesitation to go all the way to the top, all students overcame their fears and made it. The Year 6 students came away with a sense of achievement, pride…and some sore muscles!

With the end of term fast approaching, I encourage everyone to continue to strive for their personal best and ensure the upcoming break is full of rest, relaxation and recharge before a busy Term 2.
