As Term 1 comes to an end, it is a timely reminder to students to keep the line of communication open with their teachers and Pastoral team so that support can be provided when needed, and work can be effectively completed within the parameters of what is possible. Should students need extra time or assistance with work, we can only assist if we know and understand the situation outside of the classroom.

Having been a busy term, it was nice to be able to go offsite with Year 11 and 12 students heading to camp. This was an excellent time for our VCE students to take some time out from their busy schedules to spend time with their peers in a safe and relaxed environment. For our Year 12 students, it was a bittersweet camp in the sense they were happy to be spending time with their cohort but also realising this would be the last camp they spend together as a year level.

The Year 12 cohort went to Queenscliff where they learnt how to surf, and went swimming, snorkeling, diving and boating in Port Phillip Bay. Students were enthusiastic in the kitchen, helping staff prepare for meals. On the final day, students enjoyed a ferry ride to Sorrento, capping off a successful Year 12 Camp. Students definitely highlighted the time spent at the beach with nearly the entire cohort.

Term 1 has also been busy with the Athletics Carnival and Greek Independence Day March. Our Year 12 students were excited to receive their Leavers Jackets early this year, allowing them to get the most use out of them.

The Year 11 students are delighted to share with you the wonderful experience that we had during our recent camp. The focus of this camp was on building relationships with staff and peers, to relax and try some activities that many of us had not attempted before. The three day camp proved to be a huge success.

The camp took place in Torquay, Ingenia Holiday Park, with beautiful weather, making it an ideal setting for outdoor activities.

We got to experience the thrill of surfing, and many of us took on the challenge of a tree obstacle course with a zip line. These activities were not only fun but also helped us build teamwork, trust, and confidence.

Apart from the activities, the students had plenty of opportunities to bond with each other and the staff. They enjoyed meals together and engaged in group discussions and games in the evenings. This provided a relaxed and informal environment for them to get to know each other and their pastoral teachers better.

The positive energy of the students and the staff was evident throughout the camp. Students were supportive of each other, and staff members were approachable and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This positivity helped to create an environment where everyone felt comfortable and included.

Overall, the Year 11 camp was a resounding success. The students returned with a renewed sense of camaraderie and confidence, having built strong relationships with their peers and staff. We hope that these relationships will continue to grow and flourish.

Thank you to all the staff who made this camp possible, and to the students who embraced the experience with enthusiasm and positivity.
