Centre for Academic Excellence update

The completion of our Centre for Academic Excellence is well under way. Seeing the new building finally coming to life has been a positive reminder of the many great advances Oakleigh Grammar has been making in improving the well-being of our students and the community.

As we anticipate the grand opening on Sunday 7 May, here are some of the latest photos of the Centre.

Uniform News

Our Second-Hand Uniform Shop is an amazing resource for Oakleigh Grammar families, and is run by an incredible bunch of parent volunteers dedicated to helping our students look their best and represent our School with pride.

We are always looking for parent helpers so if you can spare even just a couple of hours please get in touch at secondhandshop@oakleighgrammar.vic.edu.au – it’s a great way to meet other parents and connect with the broader community.

The Second-Hand Uniform shop:

  1. Offers second-hand school uniforms and bags at a discounted price (up to 40% off new price depending on quality and wear).
  2. Enables families to sell second-hand uniforms by consignment (sellers receive 50% of sale price with remainder donated to the School).
  3. Raises funds which directly benefit students.
  4. Promotes sustainability through reselling and reusing.

New dedicated uniform shop

In the near future we will have a dedicated transportable building for our Second-Hand Uniform Shop. Once the NP Nikolakakis Centre for Academic Excellence has been completed, the transportable building will be moved to the outside of the Gym near the Bletchley Road entrance.

We will soon be looking for volunteers to help with the new fit out once the building has moved into its new home, so if you’re a budding interior designer or just want to get involved let the Second-Hand Shop know.

New uniform items for girls

In Terms 2 and 3, girls at Oakleigh Grammar will have the option to wear long pants as part of the winter uniform. We stress that the pants are optional and girls may choose to continue wearing the tunic in Junior School or skirt in Senior School. Additionally, girls from Prep to Year 5 are required to wear a cross-over tie instead of the standard tie.

Uniform rollover

Please be aware that although our School branding has changed, this will not be reflected in the School uniform for some time. It will take up to four years to rollover as we run out current stock. We do not anticipate any major changes to the uniform, other than to change the logo. As always we will monitor feedback from students and parents.

Oakleigh Grammar Business Network

If you have a family business and want to reach new customers, while helping our great school in the process, we have some fantastic opportunities available.

We will have two major sponsorship opportunities this year. The first is for our Gala Ball to be staged in May, and the second will be our Business Breakfast which takes place in August.
