Harmony Week

On the 20th – 26th of March we were able to celebrate Harmony week!

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity, it’s a time to reflect on the importance of respecting each other and our differences. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and belonging regardless of cultural or linguistic background.

It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community.

Students were able to participate in activities during mentor group about important topics such as navigating cultural identity and appreciating other cultures that make Australia the multicultural country, we see in society today.

On Friday the 24th of March we had an out of school uniform day where students, staff and teachers were able to wear a cultural outfit significant to their culture or some form of orange attire as orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations as well as freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Many students, staff and teachers participated by wearing their beautiful cultural attire and showed in support of wearing orange!

We are so happy and thankful for all those who made this week a success!
