VCE Food Studies
It has been a busy time in the Food Technology rooms with students applying the skills they have learnt with impressive results. We have been so pleased to see many of our students engaging with each other and creating a supportive and enjoyable learning space.
After studying the origins of food cultures around the world, our Year 11 Food Studies students have successfully completed their first assessment task. They produced their own infused oil, conducted sensory evaluations and then wrote an essay on the history and use of this commodity in contemporary recipes. They then had the option of using the infused oil in their home-made focaccias.
Ahhhh, the aroma of freshly baked bread!!

FOCACCIA ART
This week, the year 10 students were given an opportunity to create a piece of artwork with focaccia bread as the canvas. They first made the dough and gave it time to prove. While this process was happening, they researched possible designs, sketching their final one. Once the dough was shaped, they were let loose to create their art! There was a fun vibe in the classroom and below are some of the creations.
