From the Principal's Desk
FILL THIS HEART
O Lord, Meet me today in the ordinary rhythms of my life. I invite you to come and breathe your life into mine. Come, may your love fill this heart and may it overflow into the lives of others. May your hope well up inside me and bring a new vision for my life. And may your truth light up my reactions and decisions. May this ordinary day become extraordinary because of you. Amen.
WHAT IS THE SAC?
From 2022, every Catholic primary school has a School Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC is made up of members of the school community who wish to provide advice to the school leaders about the operation of the school. No experience is necessary. If you are a member of our school community who would like to assist in making Resurrection School the best possible place for children and families to grow, learn and work together, then you are invited to join the SAC. There are details about the role of the SAC below and Expressions of Interest are invited.
The SAC will meet twice each term and membership is for 2 years.
Expression of Interest forms are available from the Office for you to nominate yourself and join us in this important role in 2023. Please join us at the Annual General Meeting at 7.00p.m. on Thursday, November 24th in the School Hall. This includes the SAC elections.
RESURRECTION SCHOOL KEYSBOROUGH
SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL (SAC) 2023
Resurrection School Vision
At Resurrection School we live by Christian values within our Catholic tradition based on Jesus’ commandment to,
“Love one another as I have loved you”.
We strive to be a learning community that actively promotes knowledge, creativity, skills and reflection for life-long learning. We aim to provide engaging, differentiated and personalised learning experiences to nurture each individual as a global citizen.
We promote a culture that focuses on the well-being of all learners in a safe, nurturing environment and values authentic connections to the wider community.
The School Advisory Council provides an important connection between the school community, school leaders and parish. The members inform and advise the school leadership by offering support and sharing their wisdom, including:
- Promoting the school’s vision, Catholic ethos and culture
- Promoting faith formation
- Supporting school policies
- Giving advice about school improvement and the Master Plan
- Discussing the annual school budget, resources and maintenance
The success of the Council’s work depends on the support of, and feedback from, the School Community.
SAC MEMBERS
The School Advisory Council invites you to contact any of its members with your contributions.
THE WORK OF THE SAC
- Act as a forum for discussion and advise the Principal on matters concerning education in the school
- Provide a link between the parish, Principal, parents and staff in relation to the provision of Catholic education in the school community
In 2023 our strategic direction will include:
- Engaging in review, feedback and development to contribute to the school’s future directions
- Explore ways to improve the engagement of parents in the school
- Provide community outreach and engagement
The ongoing SAC focus will be the promotion of effective communication and fostering participation in the school community.
