Arcade Game Day

On Friday the 4th of November we held a day for all the classes to play our arcade games. All the kids that played brought 1$ for 45 minutes of playtime. We were inspired by a little boy on YouTube named Caine. We had music on, some lights, and all the classes came in quietly. We were giving out prizes like lollies, homework passes and more for the people who won or got a bonus. Everyone had a great day.

Knox Remembrance Day Service

On Sunday the 6th of November, some of the students went to the Knox Remembrance Day Service at the Tim Neville Arboretum. The school choir sang ‘We Are One’ and the National Anthem with all the other school choirs that came. Three of the School and Vice School Captains read out the famous poem “In Flanders Fields”. Other schools had students read poems and acknowledgements. At the end, there was a minute of silence and a wreath laying. Overall it was a great and fun experience that we got to take part in.

Scoresby PS Remembrance Day Assembly

On Friday the 11th of November, we had a Remembrance Day assembly. We spent a couple of days making paper poppies to decorate the hall. Some of the Year 5/6 students read a speech about why we commemorate this day and why we wear poppies. We also read the poem “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae. “In Flanders Fields” starts with the verse, “In Flanders Field the poppies blow between the crosses, row on row”. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we had our 1 minute of silence to think about all of the people who fought in wars.
