SPS Playgroup News

We have been having a lot of fun at Playgroup, with the children doing some art activities. Over the last term-and-a-half, they have made Incy Wincy Spiders, telescopes to enjoy taking up to the pirate ship in the playground, easel painting and marble painting. Now they are working on making the wombat from the book, ‘Diary of a Wombat’; in the coming weeks they will make carrots to feed our hungry wombat. We have had stories that go along with our art activities, which the kids seem to really enjoy.

Playgroup is great for children and parents alike. How about some quality time with your children, away from the busy household where the chores are never ending? Plus, how about some adult time, catching up with other parents who are in a similar stage of life with children of similar ages?

There are always many different activities set up in the room; there is something to spark the many different interests of the children.

There are things like construction, Duplo, blocks, train tracks or the airport and cars. Then there is painting, art activities, drawing, dolls or the always-popular play kitchen.

Now that the weather is warming up (when it is not raining), the children have enjoyed spending some time outside, saying hello to the chickens and having some fun on the junior playground.

We would love to see more families at Playgroup. We welcome younger siblings of existing students or, if you know anyone in our wider community who may like to join us at our Playgroup, they can contact the office to join or come to have a look at what we have to offer.
