'Seeing the world through a different lens.'

Our gorgeous group artwork by Years 3 to 6 students is called The Miracle Of Fatima.

The montage of individual paintings depicts ideas of what the sky may have looked like to different people when they viewed the miracle. It is entered in the annual Creative Arts Exhibition. Let's hope the judges love it as much as we do! It will be on display in our office next week.

RECYCLING FOR THE ART ROOM

The art room is only collecting washed butter/margarine containers from now until the end of the year. They are the perfect size for storage and paint dispensing. Thank you to those students who have given some...............I need more, more, more please!!!

RECYCLING FOR THE PLANET!

Did you know that rubber-soled shoes can be recycled?  The shoes can be from any sport so it is a great chance to clean out those old shoes. Next week please bring in any old runners and shoes with rubber soles to the Art Room from Tuesday 22 - Thursday 24th November.  If you miss our shoe collection in the next couple of weeks then you can take your sports shoes to Waterfall Gully Kindergarten and pop them in their permanent collection bin.

We are also collecting any old towels to donate to our local vets. The collection point will also be the art room.

Our year 3/4  Birds In School program is just fabulous. Students have shared their learning with their parents through See Saw and the whole school through an outdoor display. Sadly the weather played havoc with their display but it will reappear in warmer weather. The students have been learning about identifying the features and needs of birds and are excited to be changing our school yard to entice more small birds to our garden. The Mornington Peninsula Shire has donated 250 plants, 6 parrot nesting boxes and 2 bat boxes to help pollinate our plants at night. The students will be removing weeds and planting indigenous plants that have been specifically chosen to provide habitat and be a food source all year round. This will mainly be at the front of the school near our newly installed and very gorgeous birdbath. We can't wait to see small birds coming to our school and making it their home.

Whoo hoo!!!

Look at the amazing ,eagle’s nest our year 1/2 students have made .

We are making a Christmas tree inspired by the Aboriginal legend of Bunjil the eagle.

The nest will be the base of the tree and will be entered in a local Christmas tree competition.  It will be outside the art room for the next two weeks.
