Dear Families
How fortunate our students are to have had camp once again over the past fortnight. Last week our 3/4s attended Portsea camp - a prime location I must say and our 5/6s are curently at Sovereign Hill, stepping back in time to the living museum of Ballarat as a goldrush boomtown!
Our key updates are:
Shade Sails
Our new shade sails are complete and look a treat! We look forward to looking at ways we can make this into an outdoor learning area.
Student Fundraiser
Last week we held an icy-pole fundraiser for Jude Farrelly, one of our Year 5 students, who is in Canberra competing in the 12 Years and Under Team Vic Golf Team for the School Sport Australia Championship. We'd like to say a big thank you to those who contributed. We raised a total of $204 dollars, with the school purchasing all the icypoles to sell as a donation. Here's Jude and his team at work...
Remembrance Day
Last Friday, representatives from Year 6 went to the Rosebud RSL for a Remembrance Day Ceremony with the Senior Leadership Team. It was a moving service, with all the local schools and community organisations being in attendance. Four of our Year 6 students were surprised and filled with joy at receiving a $1000 scholarship each that goes directly to their secondary education. Our worthy recipients were:
Rosebud Lion's Club and Food For All
Our local Rosebud community is in great need and support at the moment, with the number of homeless people increasing over the past period by more than fifty percent. In collaboration with the Rosebud Lion's Club and Food For All, we will be collecting non perishable foods next week to provide basic needs to those less fortunate. We invite each student to bring a non-persishable item next week and place it in the provided box in their classroom.
School photos
In Term 3 we surveyed the community regarding the preferred school photography company. It was a close result with only 1% difference. Next year our school photo day is Friday 17th March, with School Pix.
2023 Classes
I wish to advise you that in 2023, our class structure across the school will be Prep, Year 1/2s, Year 3/4s and Year 5/6s.
2023 Preps
Our 2023 Preps have had two transition sessions already. It has been a delight welcoming our soon to be students in to our learning environment, meeting staff members and of course getting the opportunity to meet one another. Our final session, is next week!
In closing, make sure you explore the other pages for important upcoming dates, snapshots of what's been happening and great photos of our students in action. By the way - how do we only have four weeks of school left!!
Go gently
