Goodbye and Thank You to the Leaving Year Twelve Cohort

This week the Library seems a little different and a bit quieter as we farewelled the Year Twelve students last week. These students have been coming in and out of our library for their entire school journey and we have seen them grow and flourish as each year passes.

Of particular note (and joy from my perspective) is seeing the Year Twelves keen to interact and help the junior students. I include some photos taken this term with some Year Twelve girls helping the Year Twos select books and reading stories.

Both age groups were thoroughly enjoying the experience of sharing a love of reading and the joy that sharing stories and 'finding out’ brings. For me, this is what makes our school special.

Our leaving cohort have set a fine example for the younger students when using the library to study; many of them keen to study here at the library when I open for them on a Sunday afternoon. They have set a beautiful, positive tone throughout each week, and we thank them for their leadership and wish them well in their future pathways.
