High School Musical

Staff and students have been working tirelessly on the upcoming production of High School Musical. Rehearsals have been happening since last Term, with Sunday rehearsals beginning in Term 3. Just over 50 students are a part of the show, as either a lead role, a dancer, a backstage crew member, band member, a part of the chorus, or designing sets. The show couldn’t go on without any of our cast and crew, and this show celebrates a huge amount of talent within our student body.

Directed by Helen Fontana, the characters of Troy and Gabriella played by Ethan O’Brien and Johanna Ritchie, navigate high school with the help of their friends Kelsi (Ella McCormick), Taylor (Renee Gould), Chad (Claire Byrne) and Zeke (Ben Harris). Sharpay (Kate Thomson) is on a life mission to make their life difficult, while her brother Ryan (Jack Chiswell) does his best to be a supportive sibling, but all he really wants is a good jazz square. Hannah Fraser coaches the Wildcats as Coach Bolton, while Phoeby Chapman channels her inner drama teacher as Ms. Darbus. Amidst all the chaos, Paul Halton provides constant commentary as Jack Scott.

The show will be performed at the Echuca Paramount on Friday the 16th of August at 7pm and Saturday the 17th of August at 1pm and 7pm. Tickets are available at the Paramount or call 5482 3399. On behalf of all cast and crew, we hope you can make it!
