Connecting with our Alumni

Hampton Park Secondary College is rich in diversity and wholehearted in the pursuit of excellence.

Our school has been a member of the Hampton Park community for over three decades. Our College is proud of the young people, staff and community links that have been created over the last 33 years.

As we move forward we are seeking to create an alumni with students who have graduated from HPSC. We therefore encourage past students to complete a short survey here.

Please pass this link onto other past students that you might be in contact with.

The coming years present an exciting period for Hampton Park Secondary College.

A new College Principal, Wayne Haworth, has recently been appointed and the College has been awarded $6.5 million to improve student learning opportunities.

Our vision is for the newly established alumni to play an important role in the future learning of Hampton Park Secondary College students.

“Most likely to succeed” Parent Information Night

All parents, families and students of Hampton Park Secondary College are invited to view a powerful movie, “Most likely to succeed” which documents how an American school re-imagined what students and teachers are capable of doing.

The current educational system was developed a century ago however, while our world has changed over this time, our education system has not. Many schools are attempting to teach and test skills that still leave students unprepared for the 21st Century and their futures.

After presenting this problem, the documentary focuses on the story of a school in San Diego that is completely rethinking what the experience of going to school looks like.

As we follow students, parents and teachers through a truly unorthodox school experience, the audience is forced to consider what sort of educational environment is most likely to succeed in the 21st century?

Bukjeh: sharing the stories of Refugees and Migrants

Imagine you’ve been told you need to leave your home and everything you know behind to start a new life in another country on the other side of the world. You’ve got just a few minutes to pack your most treasured possessions. But what would you take, and what would you be forced to leave behind?

For the past couple of months, students from Years 7 – 12 at Hampton Park Secondary College have been working with performing artists from the City of Casey. Their artwork and poetry (written and spoken) are on display in an exhibition at Bunjil Place named Bukjeh - the Arabic word for the bundles of belongings that refugees carry with them.

The exhibition focuses on stories of migration, told by those who have been displaced – with the aim of creating meaningful connections between people from all walks of life.

Congratulations to all students who participated in this wonderful opportunity to broaden their understanding and also to Pene Va, Lorna Va, Konrad Tua’a, Carmel Kilisi, Patrick Kiork and Maike Rasake who performed an original dance and song as part of the show.

On behalf of all students I would like to acknowledge Mr Shinkfield, Ms Long, Ms Ziyad, Ms Fee and Ahmad for their support and commitment in this important project with our community.

Please take the time to view the display. Performances will also take place with professional artists on:
