Senior Sub School Learning Leader Report
It has been a busy time for the Senior School Students. Both Year 11 and 12 students have been out and about with many excursions being run. Students have had opportunities to attend excursions to the 1000 steps, GTAC for further development and understanding of the Sciences, the Courts to learn more about the legal system and Healesville Sanctuary.
The Senior School Team is very proud of students who have performed over the last 3 Wednesday’s for the Unit 1 Ensemble Night, Unit 2 Ensemble and the Performing Arts Showcase. The Senior School performers demonstrated incredible talent on each night and kept audiences highly entertained.
Unit 1 students are currently undergoing the exams, which can be a stressful time but also rewarding as students demonstrate the skills and knowledge that they have developed throughout the year.
We also congratulate all the students who undertook the GAT, it is a tough ask to sit for 3 hours, however the benefits to students for completing the GAT are many.
We are celebrating a long and tough Semester 1 with the Year 12s by holding an activities night on Thursday 13th June. Stay tuned for a recap of the event.
A reminder to all Year 11 students and caregivers that the Year 11 Formal is fast approaching and that final payments are due in August. There is already a buzz amongst the students about the event and we are excited to provide students with the opportunity to socialise in a setting removed from the College.
Early next term we'll be holding a Later Years Expo where prospective VCE & VCAL students can gain more information about their subject options in Year 11 & 12 and information on pathways post schooling. Further information about this event will be released shortly.
Finally, congratulations to Liza Greaves who will be taking on the role of Senior Sub-School Leader starting from the 17th June.

Later Years Expo
All Year 9 and 10 students are expected to attend (Other senior levels if interested.)
To better prepare our students for the next important phase of their education, there will be a
Later Years Expo Eveningon Wednesday July 24th 2019, 6.00pm - 7.45pm.
A short presentation at 6:00pm in the River Gum Performing Arts Centre (RPAC), will assist students and their families with making informed decisions about their future career pathways. This presentation will address the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) processes and Hampton Park Secondary College subjects offered.
The presentation will be followed by an expo in E Block where students will be able to view subject displays, speak to teaching staff from the College and representatives from Universities and TAFEs. The expo will finish at 7.45pm.
The purpose of this information session is for students to see the connection between school and their future work, and open their minds to different career paths. It will also enable students to make an informed decision about their Senior Schooling Pathway for 2020 and beyond with the support of their parents or caregivers.
