NETBALL UPDATE
Grade 3 – Coach Belinda Mertens and Jackie Geary
The girls returned after the mid season break with much excitement and enthusiasm. The team were also thrilled to welcome Niamh back after a 5 week break and they played a great game with Emmersyn the top goal scorer.
Grade 4 (Teal team) Coaches Belinda Pinner and Meg Gladstone
The Teal team had a great match against St Joseph’s, showing great improvement moving the ball down the court. The players’ special awareness has also improved making it easier for better leads moving the ball effectively down the court.
Grade 4 (Green team) Coach Christie Rogers
The first quarter against Girton was evenly contested however in the second quarter the girls lifted intensity and the ball flowed nicely down the court to our goals. The girls continued strong play in the second half with great defensive pressure and rebounds to come away with the win. The teams paid special respect to Alannah Doyle and her family with arm bands to acknowledge the passing of a close family member - our thoughts are with the Doyle family during this sad time.
Grade 5 – Coaches Mick Ryan and Leigh Mertens
After the holiday break the Friday training session comprised of a fun practice match with the team and family. The game on Saturday saw the girls play a great competitive game against a well match opponent in Holy Rosary.
Grade 6 – Sarah Carter and Catherine Chapman
The girls played a strong match demonstrating the skills developed in training with excellent shooting and strong defence. The grade 6 girls passing continues to be their strong skill and outplayed their opponent easily, coming away with the win. The team is at the top of the ladder as a result of their excellent team work.
