Pyjama Day - Monday 24th July
Come dressed in your favourite pyjamas. Please bring a gold coin donation. All money raised will go towards www.hero4heartkids.org.au
WHAT ARE WE FUNDRAISING FOR?
Every day 8 children are born with a heart defect, that is a family every 3 hours whose life will change in a heartbeat. Four lives are tragically lost each week. CHD is the leading cause of death in Australian babies under the age of one. It’s a lifelong condition and there’s no known cure. Help us raise awareness for the real heroes, the children and families who are impacted by congenital or childhood acquired heart disease.
Feast Day
Last Wednesday we celebrated the Feast of St Kilian with Mass, buddy activities and lunch. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our school.
State Cross Country
Congratulations to Emma and Charli representing our school for State Championships Cross Country.
Fantastic results from them both, their hard work and growth is outstanding and has been wonderful to watch. Out of 96 12/13 year old girls, Emma placed 42nd and Charli placed 75th.
Division Netball
On Wednesday 19th July, some of our students in the senior grade competed in the Bendigo Division Netball Championships. Well done on your efforts grade 6s and thanks to Mrs Vaughan, Mr Hammer and Will Whiteacre for supporting this event for our students. Last week Division the teams were lucky enough to have a training session with 17&U Victorian Men's player Will Whiteacre. Will is a 2 time National netball champion and has been a squad player for the past 2 years in the 17&U Australian netball men's team.
Division Football
Next Tuesday and Wednesday some of our senior students compete in Division Football. We wish the team the best of luck and hope all players enjoy the experience.
Friday Afternoon Assembly
This Friday 6KG will showcase their learning through their presentation. Assembly will take place in the school hall and we invite the parents of 6KG to attend. We will start promptly at 3pm.
Pupil Free Day
On Monday our staff had a productive Professional Development Day - Science of Learning and Implementation of Explicit Instruction in the classroom with Toni Hatten Roberts. On Tuesday Toni modelled the Daily review in maths with our staff. These two days continue to further our understanding in the area of mathematics.
3 Way Conversations
During week 3 and 4 we are inviting all families to participate in 3 Way conversations. This is a great opportunity for parents to be part of their child’s learning, reflecting on the first semester of learning and setting learning goals for the second semester of the year. The format of the 3 Way Conversations will again go for 20 minutes and will take place on Tuesday 25th July, Wednesday 26th July and Tuesday 1st August. Please use PAM to book these interviews. If you are unable to attend a 3 Way Conversation, please see your child’s classroom teacher so alternative arrangements can be made. PAM does not send a confirmation email for your interview time. You will find your interview time listed in the “Booked times” section of Parent Teacher Interview Booking.
New Gate
Some of our students in Grade 6 have created a video to help us all understand how we will use the new McCrae Street Gate.
