We are learning to determine the important information when reading.

VOCABULARY

Determining importance means to pull out the important information that relates to the main idea of the text. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to read an informative text from their satchel. Once they have finished reading, ask them to restate only the important information they have read. This should be roughly 1 or 2 sentences.

Your child can either record this down or share it with you verbally.
