Principal Reflections

From the Principals - Alison & Pete

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,

It has been impressive to observe how quickly our students have returned to school and settled back into their classes and routines. After the break you could be forgiven for thinking that the start of the term would be reasonably unsettled, given our structural and staff changes.  However, we are very pleased to report that the opposite has occurred, with all classes quickly re-establishing class expectations and approaching each day with enthusiasm and a commitment to learning.

NAPLAN Results to go home

Yesterday the NAPLAN assessment results went home for all our students in Years 3 and 5. We are really proud of the efforts of all our students and hope families take the time to celebrate their children’s success.

When you read your child’s reports you will notice some of the changes regarding the new proficiency levels, please contact your child’s class teacher so they can answer any questions you might have around the NAPLAN process.

Athletics Carnival

Today we celebrated all the athletic prowess of our students at the Whole School Athletics Carnival. Fantastic sportsmanship and encouragement was on show everywhere you looked and it was excellent to see so many students competing to the best of their ability. These days simply don’t just happen, we would like to thank our amazing sports coordinator Mrs. Gippel for all her efforts organising and ensuring the day ran like clockwork.

Grandparents Day

Tomorrow is a special day on our St Edward’s School Calendar. Each year we always look forward to celebrating Grandparents Day, which falls the day after the feast day of Joachim and Anne, who were the Grandparents of Jesus. Our REC Mrs. Clarke has prepared our Whole School Liturgy which will take place in the Hall at 12:30pm followed by a picnic lunch outside on the playground. It will be wonderful to welcome as many of our grandparents and other family and friends as possible to our celebrations tomorrow.

Until then,

Keep Smiling,

Alison Hatton and Pete Flynn
