Messages from the Front Office

Welcome to Term 3

In term Swimming Lessons

Parents of students in PP to Year 4, you will have received the in-term swimming lessons note with all the details regarding lessons in weeks 7 & 8 this term. Please ensure that you review the information thoroughly. If your child's medical information has changed recently, please ensure that you come into the front office to have the information updated. Please complete the permission slip and swimming assessment sheet and ensure they are returned with payment by the due date.

If you would like to organise a payment arrangement, feel free to come into the front office to put a plan in place.

School start time

This is a reminder to all parents that School gates open to all students on all school days at 8:30am, so please ensure  students do not arrive at school prior to this time as there will be no supervision.  As the weather is now wet and cold, we encourage you not to leave students unattended at school before 8.30am. If your commitments require you to drop your child/ren prior to 8.30am you will need to make before school care arrangements. Kids Academy operate onsite before and after school care at MPS, and can be contacted on 9343 5645 or email info@kids-academy.com.au.

Parking

Parents please do not use the staff car park for pick up and drop off and certainly do not park in the disabled car parks unless you are displaying an ACROD parking pass.

Parents are encouraged to utilise the horseshoe for drop offs and pick ups. If you do need to come onsite with your child and need to park your car, please utilise the parking available on Addington Way or the Marangaroo Golf Course Car park.  Please note that the Golf Course gate will be locked at 8.50am every day except Monday, when it will be closed but not locked until 9.20am to allows for movement of parents who may be visiting the uniform shop.

Breakfast Club

Please note that breakfast club now operates on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30am - 8:45am in the science room. We are still looking for volunteers to assist with breakfast club on these two days so please contact our Chaplain, Tammy (through the front office or Dojo) if you are in a position to assist.

Voluntary Contributions

Thank you to those families that have already paid their voluntary contributions for the year.

The amount asked from parents is determined by the School Board each year. The monies available are used to offset the cost of photocopying, ICT charges and the replacement of non-consumable books and items that students use in class e.g. reading books. The total amount of contributions parents and carers are being asked to pay for students is $60 per student – this is the maximum amount set in the School Education Regulations.  Families with two or more children are asked to contribute $120 per family.  Our P&C can also be included with an amount of $20 per family.

Payment can be made at the front office with cash or card, or by direct deposit to our bank account.  Our bank account details are;

BSB: 066 040

Account: # 19905042

Please ensure that you provide a reference that includes the CHILD'S NAME AND YEAR GROUP to allow for timely processing.

Crunch & Sip

Many of our classes participate in the crunch and sip program designed to increase the amount of fruit, vegetable and water being consumed by Primary school aged children. Please ensure that you are packing a piece of fruit or vegetable and a water bottle every day so that students are able to participate.

No Hat No Play

Parents,  please ensure your child has a hat packed in their bag everyday. The school DOES NOT have any spare hats available anymore as students have borrowed them and not returned them. Children without hats must play undercover, so to avoid disappointment please ensure they have a hat with them every day.

The uniform shop sells reversible school/faction coloured bucket hats. The uniform shop is open every Monday 8.30am - 9am.
