Conference 1 Athletics Championship on Monday August 7

Congratulations to the 25 students who have been selected to represent St Margaret Mary’s at the upcoming Conference 1 Athletics Championship on Monday August 7. The day will be held at The Ridge Athletics Track, Barden Ridge. The school will be providing bus transportation for the students and the accompanying teachers. Students will be required to be at school at 6:15am sharp and will be arriving back at school by approximately 4pm. 

PE in Term 3

Physical Education will continue to be taught on Wednesdays and Thursdays for Term 3. Please ensure your child comes in their sport uniform on these days. 

For Weeks 1 - 8, the students will develop their skills in hockey and cricket with a focus on developing attack and defensive tactics as well as hand-eye coordination.  In teams they will participate in these activities and experience team responsibilities, competition, tactical discussions and tactical skill development.

In Weeks 9 and 10, all students will participate in an intensive swimming program at Des Renford Leisure Centre. The program will go over the two weeks with the children swimming each day on Monday - Thursday. More information about the swimming program will be sent home closer to the commencement. 

Traditionally, StMM’s has held our annual swimming carnival on the last day of Term 3, however this year, Friday September 22 will be a Staff Development Day. Therefore the 2023 swimming carnival will be held on Thursday November 2 at Des Renford Leisure Centre.
