From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome

Term 3 has started back with a reminder that we are in the midst of winter when days are short, dawn comes late and darkness arrives early, but there have been some lovely sunny afternoons.

We are so excited that there is baby fever in the air at St Anne’s College at the moment, in the coming weeks we are anticipating the arrival of two babies, Jas Buha and her partner Joey, and Jamie Hatch and his wife Sarah will soon become parents for the first time. Cosi Rando and his wife Rita are expecting their second child in December, and Dion Prince and his wife Madita are expecting their first child in January. The joy of a new baby is such a precious gift and we wish all of the families welcoming new babies into their families all the love and support for a wonderful, joyful moment.

Next week we will celebrate our college feast day with a Mass at Christ The King Church (St Mel’s Parish). We will celebrate the feasts of St Anne and Joachim (the parents of Mary) but also acknowledge in celebration the World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly. This day was first introduced by Pope Francis in 2021 to acknowledge and celebrate the gift of the wisdom and experience of generations before and the importance of preserving and passing on the roots. This day is celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday in July, close to the feast of the grandparents of Jesus – Saints Joachim and Anne.

Rehearsals for our annual production are in full swing and the cast and crew are working hard on pulling together an amazing show for their audience. Rehearsals take place within the school day, but as the performance dates get closer there will also be rehearsals outside of school hours. We are so grateful for the dedication and commitment of all involved to allow us to experience the incredibly gifted and talented students at St Anne’s College.

Just a reminder the college newsletter includes important information, updates and sharing of experiences. We encourage you to read the contents to ensure you remain aware of events and happenings in and around the college. We have three main sources of information sharing at the college: PAM, Social Media posts and ilGiornale.

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and get to spend quality time with your friends and family.
