Athletics Division Carnival
The event took place last Monday at Duncan McKinnon Reserve. The competition had been postponed twice this year because of inclement weather. According to the organisators, it is the first time that this event is postpone twice in 25 year!
Six students from CJC participated after qualifying in various sports:
- Albi (4E) in 80m hurdles, 9-10 yr olds, finished 3rd
- Gabriel L (4F) in long jump, 9-10 yr olds, finished 10th
- Mia (4E) in shotput - finished 5th - and 100m - finished 3rd - 9-10 yr olds.
- Eléa (4E) in high jump - finished 5th - and triple jump - finished 2nd and qualified for regionals, 9-10 yr olds
- Mia, Eléa, Philippa (4F) and Holly (5C), in 4x100m relay, 9-10 yr olds, finished 4th.
The weather was stunning at Duncan McKinnon, and the children had a great time!
Athletics Regionals Competition
Eléa (4E) participated in the School Sports Victoria athletics southern metropolitan regional carnival today at Casey Fields athletics centre in Cranbourne, after her qualification on Monday at Divisions.
She competed in triple jump, 9-10 yr olds and finished 2nd, which allowed her to qualify for the Athletics State Championship that will take place at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park in 2 weeks.
Also, Eléa was recently selected to be part of Team Victoria at the upcoming School Sports Athletics 10-12 Years National Championship that will take place mid November in Brisbane.
