Writers Festival Action

Students have been very busy in class planning, drafting, editing and publishing their work for the Miners Rest Writers Festival! Keep Friday the 4th of November free, as parents, family members and friends are invited to look at the students' published pieces from 2:30pm. A short awards assembly will be held at 3:00pm in the gym where winners will be announced.

Maths in Action

It’s been a wonderful start to Term Four with lots of exciting Maths learning taking place across our school. Here are some snapshots of Maths in action across our Foundation, 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 learning areas.

Foundation: Using number lines, blocks and tens frames to solve subtraction problems.

Year 1/2: Using concrete materials to demonstrate effective strategies for addition and subtraction problems.

Year 3/4: Using formal and informal units to scale measurements. The task involved acting as interior designers to design a layout of a house.

Year 5/6: Using a range of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems.
