Principal's Report 

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Year 5 and Year 6 Camps

Our students and staff currently on the Year 5 camp at Norval in Halls Gap are thoroughly enjoying the experience. Lots of hiking, walking, and even abseiling, have challenged the campers and lots of personal achievements have been celebrated. We look forward to welcoming them back on Friday and hearing their stories firsthand. 

Thank you to parents & carers for the pre-work in preparing your child/ren for these experiences.

Next week our Year 6 students will enjoy a week long camp in Canberra. Lots of preparation has been undertaken to ensure that students have an understanding of Government and we are looking forward to visiting Parliament House and engaging in lots of other activities in the Nations Capital - fingers-crossed for good weather.

I am looking forward to participating at the Year 6 Camp and can't wait to engage in the various experiences with the staff and students. This opportunity will form life-long memories and connections for our senior students.

Kinder to School Transition

We have hosted a classroom session this week for the children enrolled for Foundation 2023 that do not attend the Miners Rest Kindergarten. The morning was a great success with lots of happy children engaging with our current Foundation staff and students. Reading stories, singing songs, a tour of our beautiful school and making crafty bear puppets filled the time for all  of the children. 

Next week we welcome all children enrolled in Foundation for 2023 for the first session of our formal transition program. The session will commence at 9:30 am and conclude at 10:30 am. We look forward to meeting our new students for 2023.

Following transition sessions are as follows:

Session 2: November 22  9:30 am - 11:00 am

Session 3: December 13 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Assembly

We are looking forward to welcoming our school community to our whole school assembly this Friday. The assembly will commence at 2:45 pm. We hope that you can join us!
