On Friday the 21st of October Kingswood’s mixed and girls Touch Rugby teams went off to compete at the NRL Victoria Gala day. The event was run by Melbourne Storm and had many fun activities for our students to enjoy such as a dance competition as well as relay races! Our teams played very well throughout the day with both teams having some wins and some very close matches. 

Tennis has been a huge success for our Prep-2 students. Students have been developing their forehand and backhand ground strokes by focusing on the correct grip as well as remembering the phrase “low to high” to encourage topspin. We have been focusing on learning these groundstrokes while hitting a ball off a string to encourage confidence as well as strike. Many students now have moved on to hitting balls that are moving and hitting forehands/backhands over the net.

On Wednesday 26th of October, our Boys' Basketball Team will be competing in the Kingston Division Basketball Tournament. I would like to wish them the best of luck and will let you all know the results in the next Kingswood Newsletter.
