Last term one of our Year 6 students, Suriya, approached me about a charity that he had learnt about that he wanted to support and ask our school and the local community to get behind as well. This charity is the ‘Have a Ball Foundation’. You can learn more about it here  haveaball.org.au

Suriya has planned and organised everything and is an excellent example of demonstrating our school values in action ‘Connected to Community’ and ‘Lead the Way’.

Great effort Suriya and we look forward to a report on the success of this venture.

Suriya has written this message to share with you all.

Hi Kingswood, I am here to tell you more about Have a Ball. The "Have a Ball Foundation" has been established to put smiles on the faces of young children by providing sporting balls to kids in remote schools and communities in outback Australia.

I will be collecting balls on behalf of the Have a Ball Foundation. These balls will then be sent to children in communities that need them most. Please bring in new or used balls (in good condition) that you no longer use or need. This can be any type of sports ball, such as a footy, basketball, rugby, or soccer ball. I will be setting up a collection station from the 2nd to the 4th of November (before school and during the senior school snack and lunch) outside Unit D entrance closest to the hall.
