News from Room 9- F/1 (Ms Nicole Lowe)

We have had a wonderful start to Term 4.

Investigation Time has been exciting with the addition of a stage with dress ups, a perfumery, a vet and the beloved castle and medieval characters.

The perfumery has been very busy with selecting, collecting, extracting oils, blending and testing. Both fresh and floral notes have been detected this week from the use of bay leaves, mint and lavender!

On Monday we were excited to share about our adventures during the school holidays.

We hope you enjoy reading a few of our experiences.

This term in Literacy we will be using non-fiction texts in our focus on Living Things.  Spinning a Web was the title of the book we read to begin our inquiry into learning about spiders. We are also learning about labels, diagrams, headings and sub-headings. We will further develop our writing ability as we hone our skills in describing, reporting and spelling.  

During Maths this week we explored different ways to show subtraction using a number line, a picture/diagram, a story, a number sentence or an equation.
