School Disco

Are your children ready for their social event of the year?

Tomorrow night we will be holding our much anticipated Student Disco from 6:30 - 8:00 pm and it should prove a huge hit!

THIS WILL BE A MOBILE PHONE-FREE EVENT

Mobile phones will not be permitted to be brought into the hall.

Our Disco is open only to children in Years Prep-6 and the cost is $10.00 per child ($15 per family), payable at the door on the night. Once inside, children will not be permitted to leave the hall until the conclusion when they are collected by their parents.

Our parent volunteers will be assigned to the various supervision tasks throughout the evening so we ask all other parents to just drop their children off at the door at 6:30 pm and return to collect them at 8:00 pm sharp.

Our always popular Candy Corner will operate, where children can purchase goodies such as drinks and snacks as well as glow sticks!

Our school disco is always a popular event on the calendar and this year will be no exception!

Italian Day

Next Wednesday 19th October our children will be participating in the Corpus Christi Italian Festa.  This is an exciting day where we, as a school community, will celebrate all things Italian. The children will have the opportunity to participate in FOUR special activities they have selected from the following choices:

  • Creating with Clay
  • Soccer Clinic
  • Italian Basket Weaving
  • Carnevale Mask Making
  • Monument Construction
  • Bocce Tournament
  • Make a Souvenir Tambourine
  • 'Luca' the Disney Movie
  • Stained Glass Magnet Making
  • Pasta Making (plain flour, eggs, tomatoes, salt, pepper, garlic, basil & olive oil)
  • Pizzelle (Waffle) Making (plain flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla, oil, lemon rind & cooking spray)

Thank you to everyone for getting your pizza orders in on time. And a huge thank you to our wonderful PFA for collecting and collating orders.

To add to the ‘festa’ atmosphere, we are asking that the children come to school dressed in Italian colours, or if they prefer, a fashion that reflects Italy e.g. chef, waiter, soccer player, Roman soldier.  Of course, this is entirely optional, but the children will have the opportunity to parade their costumes at our Italian Assembly.

The timetable for the day is as follows:

  • 9.00 - 9.30 Assembly and Parade
  • 9.30 - 10.15 First Rotation
  • 10.15 -11.00 Second Rotation
  • 11.00 -11.30 RECESS
  • 11.30 -12.15 Third Rotation
  • 12.15 -1.00 Fourth Rotation
  • 1.00 - 2.00 LUNCH
  • 2.10 - 3.20 “Cultural fever” Performance An Italian musical and dance show performed by “I can dance inc.”
  •  3.20  -  3.30 Return to classroom for dismissal.

Thank you to all the wonderful parents who have offered to help out. We look forward to seeing you on the day.

Mille grazie

Catrina Anderson

Important Notice!

Believe it or not, we are well into planning preparations for 2023  so to assist with staffing and class groupings we really need to know ASAP if there are any families who are NOT returning to Corpus Christi School next year.

Please contact me directly if your child/ren will not be returning in 2023.

Summer Uniform and Hats

By the end of next week, all children should have transitioned into their summer uniform. Please note that runners are not part of the summer uniform and are only to be worn with the sports uniform.

If you need any uniform requirements, please contact our office staff.

As per our SunSmart Policy, the children will also need to be wearing their school hats during recess, lunch and PE lessons from the first day of Term 4. Children who do not have a hat will need to play under the shaded areas of the school.

School Advisory Council

Just a reminder to members of our School Advisory Council that the next meeting will be held next Tuesday 18th October at St Augustine's School commencing at 7:30pm.

Car Park

Could I remind everyone that with the weather we are experiencing at the moment there is even a greater need to abide by all local traffic rules and 'drop off and pick-up' procedures in the school carpark and surrounds.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK OR STOP in the no-stopping zones as this will eventually cause an accident. Staff shouldn't have to ask parents/grandparents to move their vehicles. This is not pleasant for anyone. Please park your vehicle in the designated spots and come and collect your child (like the majority of our families do). As my mother used to always tell me... "a little rain never hurt anyone!"

Have a wonderful week

God bless
