Congratulations to 32 Graduating Year 12 Students

Year 12 Students Enjoy a Night of Celebration

The school hall was transformed on Wednesday 9 November into a glittery wonderland with the Year 12 table being the central focus of the night. A great deal of time and effort was given by many people prior to the night and special thanks must be extended to the following staff members:

Lara Harrison, Annette Mayhew, Bryan Willett, Natalie Weismantel, Louise Ryan, Adric Bobin, Tony Marshall, Bryan Jones, Jess Ryan, Leanne Gallagher, Rowena Hensley, Eleisha Krix and Valbona Alexander

Students, staff, parents, and carers were taken to their seats by some wonderful KHS student helpers.

Once all guests and staff were seated the Year 12's were welcomed through a balloon archway with many cheers and claps. All of the Year 12 students looked every bit ready for their Graduation with lots of beautiful dresses and smart suits.

The students, staff, and guests were treated throughout the night with delicious food from the Red Onion Cafe, which was served with the help of many KHS hospitality students, who all did a great job plating up food and delivering the meals, and serving soft drinks from the canteen. A big thank you to those students who helped on the night and to parents and carers for allowing their children to help with such an important occasion.

The night continued with our current Captains Evan Orgill and Ellie Prior doing a wonderful job controlling the formalities. The Year 12 Year Advisor Lara Harrison gave a heartfelt speech and their last roll call to send off the Year 12's and wish them every bit of success in their future endeavors. KHS Executive Principal Mr. Simon Mckinney also gave a farewell to the Year 12's with an encouraging speech about their potential to make a difference in the world.

The Major awards were presented by Jed Peisley and Rowena Hensley followed by Freya Weismantel and Hayley Andrews giving out some fun awards to the leaving Year 12's. A photo booth was a highlight of the Graduation and it was well-used throughout the night by students, their families, and staff with many memories made of a fun night.

Thank you to everyone involved in the Graduation Ceremony, it is always a great night on the school calendar, but it is one that does not happen without a significant effort by many people.

We wish all of our leaving Year 12's all the very best for a bright and happy future.Â
