The final weekend of Term 3 was a quiet one. Students were recovering from the week and catching up on some much needed rest before starting the final week of term. Footy finals dominated the screen in the TV room and the boys engaged in a sunset game of tennis. The fire pit was burning all weekend and provided a great place to sit and socialise.

Saturday morning we went shopping in Bunbury before returning to the College for a BBQ lunch. Therese Sparks engaged a few of the students to help clean up some washed out gravel on one of the farm roads near the onsite houses. They did an excellent job and should be very proud of themselves.

Saturday night was a movie night at the College, with students making popcorn and coming together in the dorm common rooms.

Sunday was again a quiet day.  Some students went into Harvey and others attended to their horses before all coming together to cook marshmallows around the firepit in the evening.

Monday was a night of hilarity, with many of the Year 12 students cross dressing for their final dinner in the dining room. We witnessed girls proudly showing off thick, drawn on monobrows, whilst boys dressed in tight fitting ensemble.  There were smiles on everyone’s faces.

Tuesday morning, some of those same girls were horrified to find they were struggling to remove the monobrow and resorted to using coverup makeup.

Tuesday night the Year 12s were once again dressed up, only this time they were dressed to impress. We went out for the annual Year 12 dinner at Brugan Brewery in Wokalup. The food was incredible and the students were amazing. Staff and students alike, enjoyed sharing a final meal together, swapping stories and memories of their time at Harvey Ag before Matilda O’Neill and Ned Gualter presented various awards to staff and students.

Wednesday was the final day at the College for many of the Year 12s. Bill Jones started the day delivering a highly anticipated, personalised reflection of the times shared and growth whilst at the Harvey Ag College. There were laughs, smiles and maybe a few tears as the Year 12s said goodbye to a place they have called home and people who have become family.

The students who remained at the College for the public holiday enjoyed a trip to Eaton Fair on Wednesday night. On Thursday Sally Barnden took a group of students for a walk around the Mangrove Boardwalk in Bunbury and a run to the top of the lookout tower. Students returned to the College and played cricket and socialised around the fire pit.

Today students have been busy packing their rooms for the end of term, completing any remaining work and getting themselves ready for the holidays. Term 3 has been a big term, 10 full weeks which included Country Week, Dowerin Field Day and the end of the Year 12s school life.

I wish all students the best over the holidays.  Keep safe and enjoy the break and we look forward to welcoming you back next term.

For those Year 12s who aren’t returning next term, thank you for the year.  You should all be so proud of the efforts you have put in and good luck with wherever next year takes you.   We will see you all at Graduation.
