"The library is not just full of books, but also opportunities."
Abbey 2016
We were very excited to have Dr Cameron Stelzer, Author and Illustrator, visiting St Nicholas this week.
BOOKS
Many St Nicholas School students are taking the opportunity to purchase signed and personalised copies of Cameron’s books at special prices. These should start arriving late next week.
Thank you to the Parents/carers who were able to attend the WORKSHOPS, lots of great tips and discussion was had by all.

The studnets ran various competitions including 3 jars marked "Guess the number of Stroogles (K-2)/ Scallywags (3-4)/ Pierats (5-6) in the jar" to mark Dr Cameron's visit. Prizes include a signed book of the winners choice by Dr Cameron and the obligatory lollipop.
Colouring competitions, and treasure maps were judged by Dr Cameron himself. The winners of the colouring-ins were: Archie Snape, Alyssa Malla, Alyssa Mayer, Layla Summers, Matilda Marshall, Artie Walker, Rhani Spencer-Ruddy and Chase Pritchard.
Guessing Competition winners still to be counted.
Student Responses after Dr Cameron's visit:
We really liked his videos, we liked drawing the Stroogle, his story idea about using memories of holidays and experiences is really good, I liked how he stayed in the library at breaktimes to talk to us and sign autographs, we all liked being able to order his books and him signing our name in them - that's really cool.
Thanks Dr Cameron please come back.

To celebrate this book, St Nicholas School has adopted its very own sloth.
Reading, reading, high and low,

LIBRARY BAGS MATTER... Not just some of the time but all of the time.

No food or drink on my books.
Food and drink are for the chooks.
Library bags keep ‘em clean.
Books are cool don’t treat ‘em mean.
Bring your bag every time.
Fill it up and get in line.
Have it scanned and scoot on out.
LIBRARY BAGS
We all shout.
