Principal's Message

Blessed Edmund Rice Day

Free to enjoy Edmund Rice Day without any social distancing guidelines or the threat of rain, today was a rich opportunity for us to reflect on and celebrate the vision and charism of Blessed Edmund Rice as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition.

Blessed Edmund Rice’s deep faith and selflessness called him to dedicate his life to the education of young people by meeting them at the margins and providing them with a Liberating Education. Edmund Rice was a counter-cultural visionary, who understood deeply the transformative power of a holistic education, which nourished young people academically and in Gospel Spirituality.

In 2023, Edmund Rice’s legacy continues to be lived and witnessed across a global network of over 200,000 students. As members of the global Edmund Rice community, we were reminded of the importance of following Christ's example and the call to live in an Inclusive Community with our brothers and sistersOur Mass, guest speakers, Fair and Fun Run all focused on ‘Service to Others’ in raising funds to support several important projects in India.

Each one of our students is a precious part of this enduring legacy of Blessed Edmund Rice which lives and develops in each one of them. I am so proud of the way that the boys engaged in our Feast Day and am humbled by their generosity in creating Justice and Solidarity for those less fortunate than us.

Wherever the journey of this week takes you, know that our God goes with you and Christ is your ever-faithful companion.

Live Jesus in our Hearts.
