As part of the Art and Design program for all Year 7 students will have the opportunity to spend the day at Banyule Nillumbik Tech School this term and participate in a one-day masterclass on a wearable technology project that links to work in their Art and Design subject. They will have access to specialist equipment to resolve design problems and support from an expert team. They will travel via private bus to and from the Tech school. They will be back at VBC by 3:15pm. Students should wear full school uniform and bring their own snacks, lunch and a water bottle.  There is no payment required, however consent needs to be provided via Compass

Girls in STEM

To inspire young women to choose a career in STEM, the Bionics Institute has initiated a program to inspire high school students to study science, technology, engineering or mathematics at university.  The Bionics Institute is a medical research institute focusing on medical device development.

Four students met their mentor on May 3 and had a tour of the Bionics Institute Labs and saw their projects along with meeting other distinguished Scientists.  The students will now work with their mentor on a project for the next 6 months and then present their project at school
