Co-curricular - Senior Sport

Welcome back to Term 2

The Winter sport season is now in full swing. Please note that over the coming weeks, coaches will be watching closely as to whether any immediate premotion or demotion of players is warranted. The ISA season for Football and Tennis officially commences this Saturday 29 April. The Rugby pre-season fixtures commence prior to the first official ISA round. The ISA Rugby season will commence with a home round against St Gregory’s College on Saturday 3 June.

I would like to thank those coaches and players who gave up their time during the break to tour and play fixtures.

  • During this break, the Japan Rugby Tour took place. The Opens Tour team won three out four fixtures, with the Development Tour team winning two out of four fixtures.
  • The Prep Rugby squads toured Armidale with the Prep A Rugby Team winning their division.
  • The Prep Football squads toured Brisbane with the Prep A Football Team winning the EREA Football Tournament held at Nudge College.
  • The First and Second XI Football squads played Sydney Grammar. The First XI won with the Second XI fixture resulting in a draw.
  • Finally, the First XI Football squad competed in the Inner West Tri-Series tournament against Trinity Grammar and Newington College. A two-day round robin structured tournament saw SPC finish on top of the table winning this year’s shield. Congratulations to Mr Fochesato and the First XI squad.

Supporters’ Day

A reminder that last term all parents/carers received correspondence outlining information regarding their son’s allocated Supporters’ Day duties. Students will be required to attend the College on their allocated day from 1:00 PM to the conclusion of the First XV fixture (approximately 4:50 PM).

Boys in the Senior and Junior Schools are to wear either their full College Winter uniform or full College tracksuit, Supporter’s shirt and College crested or plain black shorts.  They are to have their names marked off the roll at 1:00 PM in the Powell Pavilion and at the end of the First XV fixture

The dates below are the days students are required to be in attendance. I would hope that a good number of boys would also support on days they are not specifically required to attend:
