Year Four

Unit Of Inquiry

We have been busy in year 4 finalising our unit of inquiry.

Students have been busy planning creating and finally filming their advertisements for Beaumaris North Primary School. With the ‘target audience’ being prospective prep parents and their children, students made ads including key features such as a jingle and a slogan.

This week, as a group the students ‘self-assessed’ their pieces using a rubric that their co-created during Remote Learning. Questions such was our jingle catchy? Was our slogan rhythmic (include prosody)? Was our television advertisement ‘jam packed’ with action and did our print media include bright eye-catching colours?

Click the see below to watch some ads from 4C and 4D. We were very proud of what the Year 4 students achieved.

Maths

We are finishing up our fractions unit in mathematics and moving onto decimals and percentages to complete the year.

Robotics

Year 4’s are lucky enough to be working with Mrs Graham this term doing Robotics once a week using coding Lego cars.

Unit Of Inquiry

Our new unit of inquiry is “Matter can Change State” and will include experimenting and some science fun!

We are investigating solids liquids and gases and their changing states. Recently we watched Kevin Delaney, science expert, make a cloud and answer some questions related to different gases and their properties.

Hard to believe we only have five weeks to go before our children prepare for senior primary school!
